On Foot
Walking Safari
On foot with a Maasai or Samburu guide, learning the tracks, the medicinal plants and everything a vehicle drives straight past.
Walking changes the scale of a safari. You stop noticing only the large animals and start reading the ground — a leopard print in dust, a dung beetle at work, which acacia the herders use for toothache.
Walking is permitted in the private conservancies and on Laikipia's ranches, not inside the national parks. Always with an armed ranger alongside your guide.
