Riding out across Laikipia among giraffe and zebra, which accept a horse far more readily than a vehicle.
Plains game barely react to horses, so you get closer than any vehicle allows. Laikipia's conservancies keep good, fit horses and ride out for anything from two hours to several days between fly camps.
Competent riders only for the longer rides — you need to be able to gallop out of trouble.
