From the Air
Hot Air Balloon Safari
Lift off before dawn and drift over the plains as the light arrives, landing to breakfast laid out in the grass.
Balloons launch at first light, when the air is still. You climb slowly to a few hundred metres, then drop low enough over the river to look down on hippo, and the shadow of the balloon runs ahead across the grass.
It lasts about an hour. You land wherever the wind decides, and a vehicle meets you with a table, linen and a cooked breakfast. It is expensive and it is worth it.
